Soft fracture is that the electrode sintering speed is not as fast as the consumption speed, and the electrode is not fully sintered to withstand the tensile and lateral impact of the lower electrode, resulting in fracture. These two problems are directly related to the performance of electrode paste of carbon manufacturers, and also related to the operation in the process of use.
There are only two main links in the production of electrode paste, that is, batching and mixing. Among them, mixing and kneading are basically the same with minor differences at present. As long as the mixing and kneading equipment is regular equipment (above 2000L discontinuous double-axle kneading pot), the mixing and kneading temperature and time can be well grasped in the process. And the key of ingredient is reasonable formula; The selection of raw materials, particle size ratio, especially the softening point of binder asphalt and the amount of binder.
At present, the main problem plaguing manufacturers is that the electrode paste roasting speed is too slow, so some manufacturers adopt the method of reducing the amount of asphalt used. This approach effectively to a certain extent, but the asphalt amount is too low to cause the liquidity of electrode paste, electrode paste is not easy to enrich the inside electrode tube, less dense degree of the hard broken after sintering, another method is to reduce the softening point of asphalt, improve electrode sintering velocity, but reduce bituminous softening point is not unlimited, Because the asphalt with too low softening point reduces the coking rate of asphalt, the strength of the electrode also needs to be reduced, or the phenomenon of hard breaking occurs.
Therefore, the production of electrode paste should not only properly master the above two means, but also adjust the formula to improve the sintering speed of electrode. For example, the graphite material with good conductivity and heat transfer performance should be appropriately added to the formula to increase the conduction heat obtained from the electrode in the furnace, so as to accelerate the roasting speed. At the same time, the electrode consumption can be reduced to reduce the speed of electrode lowering, and the electrode consumption and roasting can be matched.
