What refractory bricks and ramming materials are used at the bottom of common industrial kilns?

As a part of the industrial kiln, the furnace bottom has different requirements for this part in different kiln production environments, which leads to the market full of various furnace bottom refractory bricks and furnace bottom ramming materials, which often makes people unable to start when purchasing

1. Heating furnace

Slag resistant castable at furnace bottom is used as furnace bottom pouring. The top of the three sections of the heating furnace can be poured with the same material, or clay bonded castable or low cement clayey castable can be used in the low-temperature section, and low cement and high aluminum castable with higher strength can be used in others. The insulation board shall be poured with light or medium castable with a thickness of about 50 – 1o0mm. The thermal insulation layer shall not be too thick, otherwise it will increase the softening layer and weaken the structural strength.

2. Electric furnace

Magnesium carbon permeable bricks and permeable ramming materials are used at the bottom of electric furnace, and dry ramming materials are mostly used for construction. Among them, magnesium calcium dry ramming material is mainly used, which has the characteristics of ceramic combination, low silicon, high calcium, appropriate amount of iron, many fine powders, thin sintering layer, dense sintering, high density, high thermal strength, good resistance to molten steel permeability and volume stability. For different furnace types, the thickness of the ramming material on the furnace slope and the thickness of the ramming material at the furnace bottom are different. During construction, the ramming material shall be paved in layers, 150 mm for each layer, tamped with feet, tamped with steel chisels to facilitate exhaust, and finally vibrated with a special vibrator.

3. Coke oven bottom

The furnace bottom is composed of ordinary clay brick and high-strength heat insulation brick. Before masonry, retest the foundation surface elevation, make records, and level with cement mortar. When laying ordinary clay bricks and high-strength thermal insulation bricks, the construction shall be carried out in groups. The ordinary clay bricks shall be laid first, and then the high-strength thermal insulation bricks shall be laid. The mud shall be full. When the foundation bottom elevation is low, the cement mortar with the same grade as the foundation leveling layer can be used for the horizontal joint of the first layer of ordinary diamond brick.

4. Carbon furnace bottom

Clay brick section at the bottom of carbon recording furnace: clay brick masonry at the lower part of combustion tank, and clay brick for carbon furnace can also be used for throat, shaft, hearth, bottom and shaft of small blast furnace lining; Hot blast stove, regenerator and partition wall. Clay bricks for hot blast stove shall have good thermal shock resistance, high load softening temperature and small creep.

As an indispensable part of most industrial kilns, the furnace bottom has a complex working environment, and there are many selected refractory bricks and ramming materials. When purchasing furnace bottom refractory materials, it should be reasonably configured according to the actual production environment and reasonably built according to the properties of refractory materials, so as to ensure the service life of furnace bottom refractory bricks and ramming materials to the greatest extent.
